Jamaican Steam Fish Recipe

Steam Fish
This steam fish recipe is a delicious and healthy dish you can prepare quickly for a family dinner. You can use porgies, snapper, (You can slice them in half). I prefer to use kingfish, because of the meaty and firm texture.
This is a Jamaican favorite that is served quite often because of the availability of fish on the island. There are a few different variations to the way people prepare this meal, but it is basically the same dish. The combination of vegetables, fish, and spices make this a favorite in many households

I’m not a fan of fish, but I’d be willing to give this a try. Dishes from other parts of the world are great to try! And can sometimes make a disliked food liked.

Hi Courtney, this recipe looks amazing too! I am not familiar with fish as I am in a land locked state so we don’t have access to a lot of fresh fish. I have had Salmon, Tilapia and Cod. I have never had Kingfish before, is it comparable to any of those? Oh and I love okra! Looks delicious.
Courtney, thanks for sharing this recipe. I will have to show it to my wife who enjoys fish and seafood in general more than I. Still, the picture of that steaming pot made my mouth water.
Hi Alex, I hope your wife enjoys the recipe. Maybe she will make a fish lover out of you. lol
